So what’s in this blog?

I am interested in a lot of diverse topics within IT, but the things that I hope to be blogging about over the next few months are:

New features of Microsoft .NET 3.0: including Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation.
Ruby on Rails – I’ve been working through Agile Web Development with Rails and I’m keen to build a real-world application now!
WordPress – trying to make use of all those brilliant plug-ins to stretch WP to do what I want it to.
Web 2.0 – I’m now using several Web 2.0 technologies, including pbWiki, Backpack, Basecamp and Google Spreadsheets.
Mapping – interesting mashups with Google Maps, location-aware apps using GPS.
Architecture, particularly Enterprise Architecture and SOA.
and finally, anything else that sparks my interest!

New Year, New Blog

I thought I’d start 2007 with a new blog.

This blog will deal with my views and experiences of web technology as I hack around with stuff I know (WordPress, PHP, Microsoft .NET, MySQL), grapple with new concepts (SOA, Web 2.0), learn new skills (Ruby on Rails?) and read other people’s blogs.

I hope the categories will be self-explanatory!

All my other ramblings will continue on www.johnadams.org.uk.
